At MAPLE we bring together executives and entrepreneurs interested in exploring cross-border trade and investment opportunities between Southern California and Canada.

Join us for our fall member networking event. Come meet our board of directors and connect with current and prospective members. There will be an opportunity to network over continental breakfast before and after our presentations.

We are honoured to welcome the following distinguished speakers:

Mr. John Drew, Senior Vice President of HSBC Bank Global Markets Advisory & Sales. John is responsible for working with HSBC's Corporate clients in the Western United States to help identify risks related to global markets and assist in finding risk management solutions in association with HSBC's Global Markets teams worldwide. John will be discussing the major influences of the current FX market volatility and the outlook for the future, sharing perspectives on Canadian dollar movements and where it goes from here along with FX market risk approaches: The Ostrich and The Opportunist.

Ms. Michelle Gross, Vice President of Business Development & Solutions at Media-Corps, a growing media services business (and MAPLE member organization) representing many of Canada's #1 media brands spanning digital, web, mobile, broadcast, print and out-of-home. Drawing upon extensive media industry experience in Canada and the United States, Media-Corps provides a turnkey media planning and activation solution for companies targeting the Canadian and U.S. markets. Media-Corps is headquartered in Carlsbad, California. Michelle, who recently relocated to San Diego from Toronto, will be discussing how Canadians and Americans consumer media and considerations for leveraging media channels when entering the Canadian market.

Mr. Chris Melnyk CEO of Cal-Nano and VP of Strategic Development at Omni-Lite Industries, one of the world's leading developers of precision components utilizing advanced composite materials. Omni-Lite components are utilized by Fortune 500 companies including Boeing, Airbus, Alcoa, Ford, Caterpillar, Borg Warner, Chrysler, Nike, adidas as well as the U.S. Military. Chris, a native of Calgary, will be discussing the company's growth from Alberta to Southern California where it established its headquarters in Cerritos.

 In addition, we will be sharing an update on the growth of MAPLE Business Council.

Networking over continental breakfast will start at 7:30am with presentations commencing at 8:30am.

Parking Note: We recommend parking in the Target parking lot beside HSBC (access from 7th) or in the open air parking lot opposite the building (access from Figueroa) as alternatives to parking in the HSBC tower.
